Hello there! 👋
My name is Carolyn (AKA Kiki!) I’m a Texas-based artist, maker, and educator with a passion for creating.
I started Kiki Knows Art to encourage creative community, making art for FUN, and mindful reuse. Through special events, artist workshops, and museum collaborations, I help YOU connect (and re-connect) to your inner artist/weirdo.
Here’s the best part. Every event I design is built on sustainability. My garage is a haven of hand-sourced materials just waiting to be upcycled– from leather scraps to card board, tchotchkes, ribbon, scrap metal, and more.

Waste. Re-Framed
With a background in corporate design, I’ve learned first hand how much material goes to waste daily in the making of consumer products. Instead of feeling small & stuck in the face of such a big problem, we can channel our creativity into mindful solutions that ripple outward. When you participate in a Kiki event, you’re saving more trash from filling our landfills and oceans.
-
You name it. Leather in every color of the rainbow, vintage fabric, cute little tchotchkes, scrap metal, cardboard, ribbon, the list is infinite! I’m like a material museum curator, always collecting and cataloguing.
-
The trash. Just kidding. Sort of! I work with local businesses and people in the community to save usable waste before it’s headed to the dump. I also shop second hand to find unique items for specific projects.
-
Because it’s the magic sauce! Creativity needs constraints, and when we use what we have, the results are always surprising in the best way. It’s the opposite of AI slop, and it’s good for mother earth. Enough said.
